Something for those who would like to get involved and learn about the conservation practices being put in place to protect the Malayan tiger in the forests of its natural habitat. MyCat is a small charity working hard to protect the Malayan tiger from extinction, there is estimated to be approximately 300 left in the wild.
MYCAT developed the “Realm of the Tiger” as an exclusive opportunity for just 8 people to get involved. It is all about making tiger conservation real for zoo employees and volunteers who interact with the public. What better way to communicate the urgency of tigers in peril, and what can be done to better protect them, than having experienced the reality of what is happening on the ground themselves?
The Realm of the Tiger is a 5D/4N programme in the Yu River Wildlife Corridor in Malaysia, designed to supplement existing knowledge of Malayan tigers and their prey by immersing participants in the forests, hills and streams of one of the world’s oldest rainforests.
Zoo keepers, educators and docents are just some of the participants who will find this an enriching experience. It is also a great opportunity to connect with other like-minded people from the zoo community worldwide.
Places are limited to 8 participants, based on first come first served basis.
